• Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar position preferred.
• Minimum 1 years of demonstrated hands-on the fields of Fiber Optics and/or Photonics with hands-on lab experience is preferred

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in Optical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics or a related engineering disciplines or equivalent

Specialized Knowledge and Skills:

• Knowledge of current optical design, fabrication, assembly, and test techniques
• Experience with Optomechanics, ability to engineer mechanical systems to work with Fiber Optics and Optics
• Working knowledge of 3D modeling software such as SolidWorks
• Familiarity with Zemax Modeling Software is a plus
• Prototyping experience a plus
• Strong sense of ownership and work ethic, written and verbal communication skills
• Proficient computer skills is a must
• Strong ability to work well in a group atmosphere, and comply with high quality standards
• Strong ability to shift from one task to another to address changing production priorities
