Designgreen is hiring a Senior Engineer to collaborate on sustainable solutions for water on projects spanning transportation, utilities, public space design, and site development. You bring creativity, self-motivation and an ability to manage projects. You will lead projects related to drainage, stormwater and flood management, H&H analysis, erosion controls, and green infrastructure design.  This position is an excellent opportunity for someone looking for a leadership role, to participate in a diversity of projects and mentor Junior staff. Applicants with senior qualifications will have opportunity for significant business development role.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Work on stormwater, green infrastructure, drainage, flood management, and H&H projects
  • Perform project management, budgeting, monitoring and scheduling for projects and programs
  • Model hydrologic and hydraulic stormwater performance for existing and proposed conditions
  • Develop civil engineering plans using AutoDesk, MicroStation, GeoPak and GIS while applying knowledge of local, state, and federal design standards
  • Perform field investigations to collect data; take field measurements, photographs, sketches; verifying surveys; and identifying field changes
  • Obtain permits and approvals from relevant review authorities
  • Research and write reports on project findings and relevant policy topics
  • Stay current on industry trends and identify new business opportunities

Qualifications

  • Professional Engineering license
  • 5+ years Project Management
  • 5+ years working experience designing active and post construction stormwater site controls using DC-MD-VA area manuals, standards and specifications, and compliance tools
  • MicroStation | AutoCAD expertise
  • Office 365 proficiency
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Independent and responsible work ethic
  • Interest in innovation and technology
  • Willingness to learn and a positive, can-do outlook
