We are looking for creative and collaborative team members to join our research and development team for the development of biogas upgrading membranes. This role will be responsible for leading elements of the problem solving to improve and scale up CMS’s products.  This is ideal for the accomplished Chemical Engineer who is experienced with experimental design, materials selection, and product development, and is looking for an opportunity to shape a new product and company.

what you will be doing

• Efficiently plan experimental studies utilizing Design of Experiments techniques
• Collaborate with multiple team members to analyze results and approaches to reach technical conclusions
• Perform testing on membrane products to determine operating envelope and expected performance in real world use
• Analyze data to draw conclusions about product performance or design
• Develop new approaches to product development to address customer concerns or value
• Represent Chem E expertise in a problem-solving environment with sales and marketing personnel, process engineers, scientists, the manufacturing team, and customers
• Communicate and present results internally at meetings and at external forums. Present scientific results to a diverse audience through data analysis and visualizations.  

what you need for this position

• Laboratory experience working with hazardous materials such as flammable solvents and pressurized flammable gases.
• Experience designing experiments to drive to conclusions or decisions regarding product design
• Ability to see the big picture and understand the purpose behind experimental work
• Ability to balance multiple priorities and comfort with being the go-to person and expert in your areas of expertise
• History of working in a highly dynamic and collaborative team and ability to self-manage daily, weekly, and long-term tasks and goals
• Comfort with ambiguous problems and ability to structure a path towards solving them
