Process Engineer, Johnson Matthey, Inc., West Deptford, NJ. Drive projects to be completed on time and at/or under budget from start to finish, including conception specification of equipment, scheduling, health and safety planning, obtaining quotes from vendors and contractors and supervising installation. Interface with personnel in maintenance, engineering, EHS, production, material control, sales and quality. Initiate process improvements, which will improve yields and lower production costs, enhancing the overall efficiency and cost effectiveness of the business unit. Design and specify new equipment installations undertaken in the business unit. Prepare appropriation requests for new equipment capital expenditures, justifying proposed process modifications with subsequent economic returns. Source equipment and interact with contractors on design specifications. Assist plant engineering with department capital work and other projects as required. Provide support in creating and up keeping of air permit and other regulatory requirements. Oversee experimentation to evaluate process modification and efficiencies.

40 hrs/week, Mon-Fri, 8:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Must have a Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Engineering, or related technical field, plus 2 years of related work experience.

Must have at least one year of experience with/in each of the following:

- Designing, installing and optimizing batch production processes and equipment;

- Engineering production support and chemistry;

- Applying fundamental chemical engineering knowledge to all aspects of project design;

- Project scheduling and tracking methodologies; and,

- Project management.
