The Office of Infrastructure at the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (Metro) is seeking candidates for the role of Senior Vice President, Facilities Engineering, Maintenance & Capital Delivery. The Office of Infrastructure inspects, maintains, and rehabilitates all fixed assets throughout the Authority, and delivers Metro's capital investments to keep these assets in a state of good repair. The Senior Vice President, Facilities leads an organization of 1,600 staff responsible for the state of good repair and capital improvements of Metro stations, rail yards, bus garages, parking facilities, bus shelters, vertical transportation, and the related mechanical systems, protection systems, and equipment. This unique senior leadership opportunity plays a critical role in ensuring safe, clean, and efficient operations for Metro customers and employees system wide.
Successful candidates will demonstrate previous experience in leading large teams, developing strong relationships with senior leaders and their teams, solving organizational and engineering challenges, promoting collaboration, establishing a culture of safety, and delivering solutions that meet our customers’ needs.
Bachelor’s Degree in Public Administration, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
o In lieu of a bachelor’s degree, a high school diploma or GED and four (4) years of maintenance management experience in a large organization
A minimum of twelve (12) years of maintenance management experience in a large organization.
Demonstrated experience in strategically planning and implementing maintenance programs for facility and infrastructure inspection, maintenance and repair
