Physical Demands and Work Environment Traffic and Transportation Engineer I and  II: Physical Demands:  Performance of the essential duties of this job requires the incumbent to: Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time. Regularly move about around different worksites. Constantly operates equipment or machinery such as blowers, pressure washers, backpack blowers, various hand tools, mini-packer, bobcat, and golf carts. (change this to reflect the actual equipment employee will use).  Frequently positions self to maintain work area and items needed to complete daily tasks. Regularly communicates information and ideas so others will understand. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations. Occasionally ascends/descends ladders.          Regularly moves/transports up to 20 pounds. Occasionally moves/transports up to 50 pounds.                Work Environment:   The work environment is moderately noisy (business office with computers and printers) . Required Certifications/Licenses:   TN Driver’s License Engineer Intern (EI) TDOT Local Government Guidelines Manual & ROW Training (Must be obtained prior to completion of the probationary period) TDOT Local Programs CEI Training (Must be obtained prior to completion of the probationary period) 10 Hours OSHA Training within 1 month of employment IMSA Traffic Signal Tech I and II (Must be obtained prior to completion of the probationary period)   Traffic and Transportation Engineer II: Education and Experience:  The required knowledge, skill, and abilities to satisfactorily perform job duties are normally acquired through attainment of a bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university in civil engineering or related discipline plus 4 years of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Required Certifications/Licenses:   TN Driver’s License Professional Engineer (TN) (A Professional Engineering License from any state is required to apply for this position; however, the Tennessee Professional Engineering License must be obtained prior to completion of the probationary period.)
