								<description>Earth City, Missouri,  The Senior Engineer of Structural Product Testing, Codes &#38; Standards serves as a senior technical expert responsible for leading industry regulatory compliance initiatives that support structural product development, market access, complex testing and code approvals. The Senior Engineer drives strategy, sets testing and regulatory compliance direction for new structural products, and represents MiTek in external regulatory and standards committees. This role combines applying advanced knowledge of building codes, standards, and evaluation criteria and deep expertise in physical structural product testing. The Senior Engineer also mentors junior engineers, influences design decisions, and ensure timely and successful execution of technically demanding projects. 
 This role will work a hybrid schedule based out of our Earth City, MO plant. &#xa0; 
 Responsibilities: 
 
 Design and oversee advanced physical testing, including custom setups or non-standard protocols. 
 Analyze test data and conduct structural, statistical, and performance-based evaluations to support technical documentation and decision-making. 
 Represent MiTek in strategic codes &#38; standards committees, and provide technical support to key industry organizations as needed. Serve as primary technical liaison with regulatory agencies (ICC-ES, IAPMO) and industry bodies, leading responses to technical reviews and audits. 
 Proactively monitor and review codes &#38; standards proposals, assess business impacts to MiTek and the light-frame wood construction industry as a whole, and then communicate and take recommended action. 
 Lead development and implementation of regulatory strategies and complex test plans for innovative or high-impact structural products. 
 Serve as a subject matter expert in building codes, standards, and evaluation criteria; provide authoritative guidance to internal teams. 
 Prepare and peer-review high-quality technical documents including code reports, product listings, and technical bulletins. 
 Mentor and train junior and mid-level engineers in testing methodology, regulatory compliance best practices, and professional development. 
 Champion continuous improvement in testing protocols, regulatory compliance workflows, and knowledge-sharing across the organization. 
 Actively participate in national and regional professional associations including ASCE/SEI and NCSEA. 
 Required Qualifications: 
 
 Bachelor&#39;s degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related field required 
 6+ years of related experience with PE (Civil or Structural) from any State Board 
 Proficiency with Microsoft Office Applications 
 Excellent planning, communication, presentation, and collaboration skills 
 Ability to foster new and existing relationships with a variety of personality types 
 Strong communication skills to effectively interact frequently with stakeholders and cross functional teams 
 Excellent technical writing skills 
 Equivalent combination of experience and education which clearly indicates the ability to perform the essential functions of the position may substitute on a year for year basis 
 
 Preferred Qualifications: 
 
 Masters in Civil Engineering 
 Previous experience working with building codes and standards 
 Ability to understand building codes and product standards and the development processes they are created under
