 The ideal candidate will have a background in HVAC, plumbing, energy, and fire protection design, planning and construction oversight as well as leadership experience, good communication skills, and the ability to work as part of an interdisciplinary team.  Design HVAC and plumbing systems in accordance with local codes and standards and client requirements, specifically including ductwork, piping, and controls.

 Calculate energy consumption, savings, and life cycle analysis of HVAC systems using energy modeling software.

 Coordination with other building design disciplines and work in a team environment.

 Support proposal preparation and business development, creating technical scopes of work and man - hour estimates. 
 Communicate both verbally and in written form in a professional manner with engineers, construction managers, equipment suppliers, contractors, and client representatives. 
 
 Skills / Qualifications*

 BS or Advanced Degree in Mechanical Engineering. 
 12 - 15 years of Mechanical Engineering experience. 
 Professional Engineer registration or ability to obtain professional registration.

								<description>Orono, Maine,  The Department of Chemical and Biomedical Engineering (CBE) at the University of Maine, Orono, Maine, invites applications for the position of the J. Larcom Ober Chair in Chemical Engineering. The Ober Chair was established in 1989 by a bequest from J. Larcom Ober, B.S. 1913. The purpose of the Endowed Chair is to promote excellence in chemical engineering with an emphasis on pulp and paper applications. The funds distributed from the endowment are available to support the Chair holder, research staff, equipment, supplies, travel, and other professional expenses of the Chair&#8217;s team. The CBE department is seeking an outstanding scholar with teaching experience in chemical engineering and with research expertise in pulp-and-paper-related fields. 
 The CBE department offers ABET accredited B.S. degrees in Chemical Engineering and Biomedical Engineering, and it offers M.S. degrees in Chemical Engineering and Biomedical Engineering, as well as a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering. The department has 17 full-time regular faculty and teaching staff. It collaborates with faculty members in the School of Forest Resources through the Forest Bioproducts Research Institute (FBRI). 
 FBRI has unique pilot plant infrastructure to support research on pulping, papermaking, coating, nanocellulose, and conversion of woody biomass to fuels (synthetic crude oil derived), chemicals and advanced materials. This infrastructure includes a pilot paper machine, pilot coater, pilot facility for nanocellulose production, biomass to bioproducts pilot plant, and synthetic crude oil pilot plant located on-campus at the Process Development Center (PDC) and off-campus at the Technology Research Center (TRC). Both PDC &#38; TRC bring in many industry/business contacts. 
 In addition to the FBRI, collaborative multi-disciplinary research opportunities abound with established research centers/labs such as the Frontier Institute for Research in Sensor Technologies (FIRST), the Advanced Structures &#38; Composites Center (ASCC), the Climate Change Institute, and the Aquaculture Research Center. The CBE department has a long-standing relationship with the UMaine Pulp &#38; Paper Foundation which provides a network of industry and business leaders.
