This person will also be an active inspector as scheduling requires.  Responsible for efficient first article inspection/problem resolution.  Applies experience to perform root cause analysis and corrective action. Job Duties & Responsibilities: *Direct inspectors, coordinate department inspection activities to support production and shipping needs. *Evaluate department processes. Recommend and coordinate needed changes based on process analysis. *Provides inspection activity for product through production cycle. *Position inspectors to meet production and OSP inspection needs. *Provide training to the inspectors when needed. Coach and provide development advice to staff. *Will assist Management team with keeping all tooling, gaging, and working instructions up to date. *Directly supervises Quality Control Inspectors. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. *Responsible for staff work assignments/rotation, employee training & back-up absent employees.  Recommends adjustments to staff among facilities to cover needs. *Responsible to meet department productivity and quality goals. *Seeks and acts upon ways to improve daily work processes to enhance quality, productivity, and satisfy customer needs and expectations; looks for cost reduction and service improvements; eliminates unnecessary or low priority work; initiates and encourages others to resolve impediments and act on improvement opportunities. *Act as main communication point between inspectors/leads and operators. *Will identify problems and maintain constant communication with the QC Engineers and help finding the fix. *Assist with 5s sustainment activities. *Other duties as assigned. *Responsible for ability to perform all required Inspector Level 3 Tasks.     Working Conditions: *Able to lift up to 25 pounds *Must wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) which is required in designated areas.
