The EMC Technician is a technician with a background in electronics. As a member of the Test Services team, the EMC Technician I will perform basic testing for a variety of systems and equipment over various industries under direct supervision. Products can range from simple consumer products, wireless modules, and small vehicles, to complex medical devices, industrial systems, and cutting-edge RF technology. This position is onsite in Cedarburg, Wisconsin. 2nd Shift | 3:00PM-1:30 AM | M-TH
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Performs basic electromagnetic compatibility testing
- Receives instructions from and reports data to project engineers
- May communicate with clients during the setup and performance of a test
- Performs and documents routine maintenance of designated test equipment and laboratory areas
- Performs validation and verification of tests and equipment.
- Manages shipping and receiving test equipment and customer products
- Operates forklift
- Manages laboratory consumables
REQUIREMENTS
- Positive attitude and ability to maintain a high degree of professionalism
- An ability to adapt to changes, delays, and unexpected events is important
- Strong interpersonal skills are required; with the ability to work both independently, and as part of a team
- Solid written and verbal communication skills
- Computer and technical skills, including basic competency in the Microsoft Office suite of products
- Familiarity with wireless technologies is a plus
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
- An Associate’s degree or Technical Qualification with 1 year of technical experience preferred; or a Bachelor’s degree
- Directly applicable experience may be substituted for years of experience/education
