Fisher Associates, P.E., L.S., L.A., D.P.C., headquartered in Rochester NY, with eight offices throughout NY, PA & TX, is searching for a mid-level Bridge Design Engineer to join our Structures Team within the Transportation Group.
The primary function of this role is responsible for, but not limited to, the following:
- Understanding all aspects of preparing bridge design plans and construction bid packages for NYSDOT, NYSTA and locally administered federal aid transportation projects
- Coordinates and communicates effectively with clients, sub consultants and regulatory approving agencies
- Assist with field inspections and reports for bridge and culvert inspections
- Use the Search and Destroy Methods
- Attend project kick off meetings.
- Research, understand and document jurisdictional requirements
- Develop creative and strategic design options that meet client’s goals
- Site feasibility studies as well as site and environmental analysis
- Schematic design, engineering systems coordination, site cost analysis, design development
- Specification and materials research

- Establish and maintain strong client relationships adhering to the Fisher Clientship philosophy
- B.S. degree in Civil Engineering
- 7-10 years of transportation experience
- Must have NYS Professional Engineering License or the ability to obtain it within six (6) months.
- Complete understanding of MicroStation (Inroads); understanding of AutoCAD
- Knowledge of drainage design
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint) required
