A large laundry in Texas seeks a qualified and experienced Chief Engineer with at least 5 years of healthcare laundry experience. The Chief Engineer manages a group of engineers responsible for preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing laundry equipment, which includes washers, ironers, dryers, boilers, conveyors, feeders, and folders. The Chief also ensures that all work performed is completed in a safe manner. This person must have a clear understanding of HAZMAT, SDS, EPA AND OSHA requirements.
This person schedules work according to urgency, availability of crew, and consideration of workflow interference. Preventative maintenance requires assessing critical points of potential failure, developing recovery plans, managing parts inventory, and routinely inspecting the building and equipment. Action plans are developed to address building and equipment issues.
The position requires an experienced manager that can direct and support employees through coaching and training.
Physical Requirements: Stand, walk, stoop, bend, crouch. lift, push, and pull daily from 8-10 hours per day. Weekend/holiday work may be required from time to time.
