A postdoctoral position is available in the laboratory of Dr. Andreas Fischer (Montana State University, Bozeman, MT, United States).
The successful candidate will identify and characterize proteases involved in nitrogen remobilization from senescing barley leaves, using a combination of advanced biochemical and molecular tools. She/he will be expected to prepare manuscripts for publication in peer reviewed journals, help with general lab management duties, and interact with graduate and undergraduate students working on the same and related projects.
Montana State University is located in the Gallatin Valley, in the Northern Rocky Mountains, ~1500 meters above sea level, with mountain ranges providing hiking and skiing to the north and south.
Required: Ph.D. degree in Plant Science (including, but not limited to plant physiology, plant biochemistry, plant genetics, plant molecular biology).
The Fischer lab at Montana State University (Bozeman, MT, USA) performs research aimed at understanding crop (leaf) and whole-plant senescence including regulatory mechanisms and proteolytic enzymes involved in nitrogen remobilization from senescing tissues.
