Job Responsibilities

30%  1. Receives instruction and guidance in the development and evaluation of air pollution emissions inventory system data and emissions control technologies in the Regulatory Development Unit, Air Quality Planning Section, Air Pollution Control Division, Bureau of Air;

• Assists higher level staff in the evaluation of routine air pollution emissions inventory system data
• Assists in the review of routine permit applications, engineering reports, field inspection reports, manufacturing directories and code tables for pertinent inventory information. 

25%  2. Assists higher level staff to gain knowledge and training in the collection of routine engineering data;

• Performing engineering calculations, interpreting trends, identifying priority areas,
• In preparing graphical depictions of emissions data to aid in the Section’s pollution control decision making process
• Interpreting applicable laws, rules/regulations and policies/procedures.

20%  3. Assists higher level staff in the design and preparation of techniques and routine technical scientific reports utilized in evaluating completeness and accuracy of the air pollution database and correcting data deficiencies;

• In assisting, advising and conferring with Bureau staff regarding the development and maintenance of other routine technical and scientific databases associated with air pollution control.

10%  4. Participates and observes higher level staff in the development of specialized tools (e.g., computer programs, data handling systems, guidelines, etc.) utilized for the analysis and improvement of obtaining, storing, retrieving and analyzing routine emission inventory data.  

10%  5. Participates and observes higher level staff in meeting with industry and government representatives to support the compilation of a current and accurate air emissions database;

• In providing testimony to the Pollution Control Board in support of regulatory proposals involving emission control technologies.
• Travels in performance of duties.

05%  6. Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.
