This position functions as a first-line manager of a complex work area, manage, coordinate and administer the Region business processes for preliminary (design) engineering, with a focus on the production of road design plans, specifications, and estimates.  Coordinate quality assurance activities for the Region, and assist in public involvement.  Maintain alignment within the Region and with other Regions, Lansing, and the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA).  Responsible for maintaining schedules, meeting MDOT customer needs, resolving complex issues to ensure successful process, project, and program implementation, managing budgets, and ensuring continued operations for delivery of MDOT services and products.  Responsibilities include leading the Region Design Unit, implementing in
