EAC Consulting, Inc. (EAC) is in need of a Construction Engineering & Inspection (CEI) Department Manager for our Miami, Fort Lauderdale or Orlando office.  Candidate must be authorized to work in the United States for any employer.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Corporate Management

• Implements corporate mission and vision statements; facilitates efficient operation of corporation by establishing goals, assigning tasks, and monitoring accomplishments.

Business Development and Corporate Exposure

• Solicits, develops, and maintains clients; establishes the Department’s marketing objectives, directs new business research, develops leads, develops strategy, and qualifies projects. 
• Maintains positive relationship with current and past clients as assigned. 
• Strategizes to decide which opportunities to pursue and the best approach for the pursuit.  
• Active marketing of project including client meetings, proposal preparation and presentations.

Financial Management

• Provides fiscal management and planning, including preparation of annual Department budget. 
• Takes appropriate management and administrative action to help ensure that projects and the department achieve the budgeted levels of contribution to overhead and profit.
• Initiates and maintains contacts with key engineers, officers and officials of other organizations and companies, requiring skill in persuasion and negotiation of critical issues.  
• Negotiate critical and controversial issues with top-level engineers and officers of other organizations and companies.

HR

• Ensures that sufficient numbers of employees are trained to assume the leadership of all key technical and management functions within the division or recruiting outstanding personnel to fill these positions.

Department/Project Management

• Responsible for all aspects of the technical quality, management, and profitability of the firm’s contracts under their control. Specific responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
  1. Ensuring that high quality management, administrative, and technical service is provided by project engineers and project managers and taking action as necessary to maintain the firm’s high reputation for excellent management of projects; 
  2. Ensure that the firm’s policies, systems, and procedures for technical work, management, and administration are implemented;
  3. Respond to Owners representatives’ requests at Program and Operations levels; 
  4. Attend and manage all monthly/weekly/daily contractor and client meetings;
  5. Manage all elements of Change Order Management, Cost Estimates and Negotiations.
