Candidate will have a four-year degree in Civil Engineering, Software Development, Computer Programing, or Information Systems plus a minimum of four (4) years’ experience within the AEC industry or the equivalent work experience of eight (8) years. That experience must include a minimum two (2) years plan production experience in an AutoDesk with AutoCAD and Civil 3D platform environment and two (2) years in a CAD support or other involvement in technical CAD support role. Bentley platform experience a plus. CAD system and/or training certificates preferred.
The primary responsibilities are to support the management of the enterprise-wide day-to-day configuration, deployment, standards maintenance and training required to successfully support and manage a dual CAD platform of AutoDesk’s – AutoCAD and Civil 3D and Bentley’s - Microstation and InRoads applications at a civil engineering design firm including land development, water resources, surveying, GIS, landscape architecture, planning and BIM.
Candidates for this position must demonstrate independent thought and problem solving abilities; demonstrate organizational and consensus building skills and be adept in establishing and managing strong, positive working relationships with in-house professionals, management and vendors.
Candidate’s experience and tasks will include the following:
Analysis and configuration of CAD systems, processes and standards with the goal of improving efficiency of production teams; development of automation scripts; integration of CAD systems with other design and analysis tools such as GIS and BIM; assisting in development of a training curriculum (consisting of preparing user documentation, performing in person training sessions and coordinating with training consultants); performing outreach of standards, procedures and technology through live presentations, webinars, one-on-one and group sessions in multiple design groups and multiple offices in California, Arizona and Colorado.
Position requires excellent verbal and written communications skills, ability to travel (including overnight stays), active participation in professional organizations, user groups and conferences.
A good driving record is a must.
