Northshore Utility District (NUD) seeks a qualified engineer to manage the development extension program and supervise the development extension team. The successful candidate will work with NUD staff, the development community, and our partner agencies and municipalities to assure that system extensions are both well designed and built to last.
The ideal Development Engineering Supervisor candidate will be an effective supervisor and team builder, and foster good relationships with assigned staff, co-workers, developers, and the community at large. This role will best be served by an experienced professional skilled in the engineering and construction elements of development but is also an effective leader and mentor.
The Development Engineering Supervisor performs engineering and technical functions in addition to managing the development review program and supervising the development workgroup. The workgroup currently consists of an Engineering Technician, a Permit Technician, and a Construction Inspector. Members of the development team will also work closely with the GIS Technician who is currently assigned to the IT department.
To be considered for this position candidates must possess:
A current Washington State Professional Engineer (PE) License or ability to earn one within one year of appointment is required.
A Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering is preferred, however any equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the applicant with the knowledge, skills and abilities required to perform the job would be considered.
A minimum of ten years of employment experience in the engineering field with a minimum of five years direct experience in the wastewater collection or potable water supply industries.
A minimum of three years performing review of development projects.
A minimum of three years of direct supervisory experience.
