ENSCO is seeking a Business Analyst who will be responsible for gathering and understanding the business needs of clients within specific projects/products. After confirming that the requirements are accurately described, The Business Analyst will then translate the requirements into business and functional specifications. The Business Analyst will be expected to accurately articulate the gathered requirements to all parties involved in the design process as well as the communication back to the client regarding the overall design and progress.
The Business Analyst will be working across a range of projects complex and simple and will be expected to work on multiple projects at the same time. The role will advise and form part of the testing, training and support teams on functional solutions and add a level of quality assurance to the deliverables from these teams
The business analyst responsibilities will include to:
Critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, decompose high-level information into details, abstract up from low-level information to a general understanding, and distinguish user requests from the underlying true needs,
Proactively communicate and collaborate with external and internal customers to analyze information needs and functional requirements and deliver the following artifacts as needed: Business Requirements Document, Use Case Model, and User Interface designs.
Produce high quality documentation (user requirements, business and functional specifications) according to standard templates as well as written reports describing IT solutions and/or requirements in a clear and concise style using UML or natural language,
Represent the client and provide guidance to the development team(s) in all phases of development, deployment and maintenance with regards to the solution,
Applying standards and methodologies as defined by the company,
Serves as the conduit between the customer community (internal and external customers) and the software development team through which requirements flow,
Collaborate with developers and subject matter experts to establish the technical vision and analyze trade-offs between usability and performance needs,
Be the liaison between the business units, technology teams and support teams.
Take ownership of BA processes and template creation and enhancement.
Project management and Functional lead on small projects
Mentor, support and empower junior business analysts.

Qualifications Required (Skills)
BS degree in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent Minimum of 3 years of relevant professional experience, including knowledge of functional area of expertise and related fields
Experience building and implementing model-driven, enterprise-level business solutions
Knowledge of all phases of software development including design, coding, testing, debugging, implementation, and support of large-scale, business centric and process based applications
Experience working with at least the following SDLC methodologies: Waterfall and Agile
Custom-build component design & development as well as integration
Strong analytical and product management skills required, including a thorough understanding of how to interpret customer business needs and translate them into application and operational requirements
Liaise the system requirements to the necessary audiences e.g. testers, developers, business analysts
Customer product support experience
Familiarity with the following tools: Microsoft Visio, Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word
Excellent customer relationship building and listening skills
Excellent written, and verbal communication skills
Must be able to work independently and as part of a diverse interdisciplinary team on complex, time-sensitive problems
Excellent organizational skills
Ability to travel to the Washington DC area as well as to local clients when required
Ability to travel up to 15% of the time, both nationally and internationally
The selected candidate may be required to submit to fingerprinting, drug screening, and additional background investigations in connection with this position.
Wearing safety equipment (hardhat, steel-toe boots, protective vest and protective eye glasses) when working on railroad properties is also a requirement. ENSCO will provide all necessary safety equipment.
MS degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, System Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent
