The Quality (Q) Division within the Environment, Safety, Health and Quality (ESHQ) Directorate is searching for a talented Quality Assurance & Control Program Manager to join their team.
This role provides major leadership for development, direction, and maintenance of the Argonne National Laboratory quality program under DOE Order 414 (series) and 10 CFR 830 Subpart A and prime contract stipulated requirements. Serves as a primary resource support authority on regulatory compliance matters relevant to quality for Argonne National Laboratory and the University of Chicago Board of Governors. Develops training material for personnel on aspects of quality assurance and quality control-requirements in areas that include Research & Development, maintenance, operations, and construction environments.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:
Knowledge of Quality program development and administration for laboratory or high hazard and nuclear facilities; regulatory processes, certifications and experiences to include; American Society for Quality (ASQ), ISO, Inspector certifications (e.g. A.W.S., ASME, etc.).
Knowledge of QA program concepts and Quality Control knowledge, and the understanding of how to develop concrete program attributes in an ever-changing environment with requirements and guidance documentation for meeting 10 CFR 830 Subpart A and DOE Order 414 (series) quality requirements and expectations.
Skill in interpretation of regulations and establishing the means of meeting the requirements in a diverse operational and research environment.
Ability to implement processes that ensure that Quality Assurance requirements are properly reflected in procurement documentation for material and components.
Skill in working with engineering and safety basis personnel, to ensure procedures reflect the requirements of a nuclear grade Quality Assurance program.
Knowledge of Quality improvement process tools (e.g. Six Sigma Black Belt, causal analysis).
Demonstrated management and organizational skills, including project management.
Ability to motivate and lead multidisciplinary personnel and act in a lead functional role in translating Quality Assurance (QA) and Quality Control (QC) Program requirements into floor level procedures and methods.
Ability to provide daily direction to and oversight of both experienced and inexperienced personnel.
Ability to mentor and lead peers and subordinates in the implementation and compliance with QA program requirements.
Proficiency in adapting to changing priorities and pressures, and the ability to work as a team member is necessary.
Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to interpret and apply of regulatory requirements in a research and development environment.

This comprehensive level of knowledge and skills would be achieved through a combination of education and working experience or equivalent. Certifications/training preferred Certified Quality Manager, ANSI/NQA Lead Auditor, and ISO Auditor training.
