Examples are transmission cases for automotive locks and locking systems for convertible tops, sunroof kinetics, connecting units for gasoline pumps, function-integrated housing for door latch systems, and hood and tailgate locks. Our specialty is insert molding and assembly in a fairly complex automation equipment environment.
This function is the dimensional measurement expert and oversees all relevant processes in the plant, controls related equipment, mentors personnel on measurement questions/techniques and works closely with quality and project engineers.

Essential Job Functions
Oversees and controls all measurement processes in various stages of product manufacturing (PPAP, incoming, in process, annual re-qualifications, etc.).
Creates measuring programs for CMMs (Mitutoyo, OGP).
Measures products and tools or components thereof in various stages of product life cycle.
Analyses measurement data from CMM programs, production failure reports or other for team decision making; performs capability and Gage R&R studies.
Creates and/or modifies process control plans in coordination with the respective product quality engineer.
Controls inspection, measuring, and test equipment per quality standards.
Acts as the main contact to outside measurement houses for maintenance, calibration or measurement services.
Trains/mentors team members on use of measurement equipment, SPC / MSA practices.
Assists with the investigation, root cause analysis, immediate corrective actions, and verification of corrective actions on claims.
Degree in Engineering or equivalent on the job experience.
Proficient in CMM programming (Mitutoyo, OGP, Zeiss).
At least 5 years of experience in creating measurement programs for plastic injection molded components; preferably insert injection molded parts.
Expert in part print reading and GD&T.
Experience with design software.
Proficient with hand tool measurement equipment and other test equipment.
Experience with the application of SPC and MSA methods.
Experience in creating control plans.
Knowledge of other quality core tools and techniques like APQP, PPAP, FMEA, process flows, 8D.
Ability to work under pressure and changed priorities.
