Mead & Hunt has an exceptional opportunity for highly motivated inspectors to conduct and document inspections of highway and bridge projects throughout South Carolina. This position will be focused in the Florence and Rock Hill, SC areas. Responsibilities include data collection, quantity calculations, and inspections/testing related to: soil density, concrete, asphalt, and earthwork. This position requires heavy lifting, working outside in a variety of conditions on a regular basis, and ability to perform work independently. Travel to construction sites throughout the state is an essential function of this position; a valid driver’s license is required. Extended hours and overnight stays may be required.

Successful candidates will have an associate degree (or higher) in engineering or a related field from an accredited secondary institution AND at least three years of relevant work experience OR, if no degree, must have at least five years of relevant work experience.
Ideal candidates will have any/all of the following: more than five years of highway and bridge inspection experience; DOT inspector certifications (preferably SC); proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook); experience with SiteManager or other construction software; experience with data collection, quantity calculations, soil density testing. |
