The primary responsibility of the Project Manager is to manage the development and preparation of preliminary and final construction documents and reports for commercial/industrial, residential, Utility and other site development projects. The ideal candidate will use his/her skills to define project requirements, prepare SOQ’s and proposals, organize and manage resources, manage the project budget and scope, prepare, direct and participate in the accomplishment of project deliverables, and pursue growth and expansion of the company in the central region.
Responsible for the delivery of multiple projects for Public, Private, Energy, and Institutional clients.
Oversee and manage various projects of significant magnitude in terms of complexity, cost, time constraints, internal and external staffing and equipment.
Provide training and direction to project team, including assignment of individual responsibilities, tasks, and technical functions.
Ability to design and prepare drawings and specifications including, street improvements, grading and drainage, traffic control, dry and wet utility’s, and storm water management plans, as well as perform hydrology and hydraulic analysis.
Identify needs and allocate appropriate resources to complete specific project tasks on time.
Continually monitor individual progress to ensure specific deadlines and budgets are met.
Perform technical project tasks and provide technical consulting to individual clients.
Meet with clients on a regular basis for quality assurance, feedback, and long-term relationships.
Maintain expertise through continuing education and professional sponsored events.
Participate in strategic planning and marketing strategies for expansion and growth in the Bakersfield area.
B.S. Degree in Engineering and a PE license in the State of California.
8 years’ experience designing and managing civil engineering and surveying projects, surveying related experience a plus.
Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills as well as client relations experience.
Project implementation experience in a utility environment.
Extensive technical experience implementing or using project management software.
Ability to manage multiple projects with changing, and sometimes conflicting priorities.
Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D, knowledge of MicroStation a plus
Public and Transportation agency, oil and gas experience a plus.
