This position is responsible for supporting J.V.’s Quality Management System (“QMS”), contractual quality requirements, supplier quality issues, audits and reporting functions, as assigned, under the direction of the Director of Quality Assurance.
Responsible for performing program, organizational or manufacturing area audits to assure compliance to the QMS and other regulatory requirements, as well as other J.V. policies and procedures, across both facilities.
Serves as internal audit coordinator. The auditing process includes the planning, preparing, conducting, reporting, and following-up on audits and corrective actions. Audits shall be conducted, per the J.V. comprehensive audit schedule.
Conducts audits and assessments by interviewing and/or investigation and examination of objective evidence, standards, procedures, work instructions, drawings, specifications, regulations, etc.
As part of the audit process, works with the operations and other related staff in responding to and addressing any non-conformances noted during internal or external audits.
Communicates effectively to Director of QA, QMS Manager and other audit stakeholders on audit related activities.
Uses advanced quality tools and processes to ensure effective process measurement, control, reporting, root cause and corrective action, and continuous improvement.
Manages MSA (“Measurement System Analysis”) (e.g. PPAP, Cpk, Gage R&R).
Serves as PFMEA moderator.
Provides technical support and training to production and inspection personnel, as needed, including developing inspection methods and criteria, specifying appropriate sampling plans, interpreting and revising specifications, and processing non-conforming materials.
Reviews and evaluates complex in-process rejections and implements corrective action, as needed.
Evaluates and dispositions nonconforming material, as needed.
Champions the use of SPC to measure capability, reduce variability, and overall improve the quality of the product.
Develops and updates procedures, work instructions, pre-job briefs, and forms, as required.
Maintains monthly metrics of CAR, SCAR, NCR, customer surveys, supplier scorecards, internal audit status, and scrap rates for J.V.’s stamping operations.
Supports quality control (QC) requirements for key customer accounts.
Manages the integrity, security, confidentiality, and recordkeeping of all aspects of quality records and related documents, certifications and data control. This includes, but is not limited to control plans, PPAP, inspection plans and forms.
Establishes, maintains and regularly issues reports to Director of QA on quality metrics, including analysis of trends and corrective action efforts and updates.
Ensures compliance of appropriate manufacturing Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s), Work Instructions, Forms, Pre-Job Briefs as required, in collaboration with various departments.
Administers, supports, and implements all policies established by the Company across all assigned areas of responsibility in a business-like and professional manner.
The incumbent is expected and required to participate and engage in related training, education, organizations and other associations that will assure that s/he remains fully educated and current in developing or changing areas related to the Quality department and efforts.
Considers financial impacts of quality process controls, audits and inspections.
Embraces and participates in J.V.’s Safety culture, always keeping Safety as the #1 priority. Conforms to and follows all safety rules, production, and quality directives. Maintains cleanliness of work area to meet J.V. standards.
Reports any incidents that have occurred in a timely fashion and participates in investigations, as required (i.e. safety, spills, accidents, productivity/workflow).

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS & COMPETENCIES
Education -- Bachelor’s Degree (prefer B.S. in technical field, mathematics, or engineering).
Experience – 5+ years of quality engineer experience, with a track record of accomplishments and improvements, within a manufacturing environment.
Strong computer skills, including use and navigation of internet/intranet.
Strong Microsoft office skills including Word, Outlook and advanced Excel capabilities.
Experience in statistical control programs including mini-tab, etc.
Ability to understand and apply appropriate usage of technology in a work environment including virus prevention.
Ability to learn other technology related skills, as needed, to perform the essential functions of the position.
Requires an in-depth understanding of Quality Management Systems (QMS) and the use of advanced quality tools and processes to ensure effective process measurement, control, reporting, root cause and corrective action, and continuous improvement.
Working knowledge of ISO 9001:2015, AIFT 16949, NQA-1, and applicable government regulations.
Ability to understand specifications, read blue prints and translate requirements into inspection and/or work plans.
Knowledge and experience in LEAN manufacturing methodologies, Six Sigma, SPC and performance metrics.
Working knowledge of FAI, PPAP, PFMEA, Cpk and Gage R&R.
Ability to manipulate and analyze data and to develop trend charts.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, including ability to prepare presentations.
Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.

ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) and/or Certified Quality Auditor (CQA), Six Sigma Green or Black belt preferred.
Experience working with ISO 9001:2015.
ISO 9001:2015 Internal Auditor and Lead Auditor certification, per ANSI/ASME NQA1.
Certified FMEA Moderator.
Experience in implementing programs for corrective action and process improvement.
