AKRF is seeking a full-time Construction Inspector/Assistant Office Engineer to join our New York City Construction Management Services team.
The applicant will have the following day-to-day responsibilities:
review plans and specifications at the construction site and/or field office for the construction operations being performed
provide field inspection of water and/or sewer installation, as well as other utilities, and roadway restoration
monitor progress, verify quantities and ensure compliance to engineering plans, specifications and construction, safety standards and specific agency requirements
report site results and on-going information to the senior inspector or resident engineer
use computer-assisted construction management software to prepare inspection documents
Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering with a concentration in Construction Management a plus
Minimum 2-5 years’ experience in construction inspection of infrastructure construction projects (water/sewer/roadway)
Must be qualified for NICET Level I/II/III; EIT,CMIT, or CCM a plus
OSHA 10 safety credential or ability to obtain
NYCDDC experience preferred
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Strong computer skills, including use of portable devices
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
Superior attention to detail and organizational ability
Ability to manage and meet multiple deadlines
