Reporting to the Tran-SET UTC Director, the Program Manager participates in all aspects of planning, development, and management of the Tran-SET UTC Program. The Program Manager has the primary responsibility for oversight and performance of Tran-SET research, education, workforce development, and outreach program.
Responsible for oversight and performance of Tran-SET research, education, workforce development and outreach program. Duties include: Develop and maintain the center’s data management plan; Develop and maintain the center’s website; Develop and maintain the center’s technology transfer plan; Work with the university’s programs to develop quarterly financial reports to be submitted to DOT; interact with the research center’s stakeholders and advisory board to solicit and rank problem statements for request for proposal, organize and plan center events including workshops and meetings, convene review panels; interact with investigators (PIs) on all matters related to research proposals, outreach and workforce development; monitor center accounts, progress and results of funded projects and liaison with principal investigators; and supervise support staff processing proposals, reviews, grants and subcontracts.
The position serves as the primary liaison with the Tran-SET’s Advisory board, transportation agencies and partner institutions in region 6 as well as state DOTs in region 6. In addition, the incumbent interacts on a regular basis with the research community, as well as other transportation centers in the US. Expected to provide in?house review and comment on communications products that deal with research activities. Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications: Master's degree in Business Administration or Engineering (transportation). Requires strong skills in program reporting and working knowledge of US-DOTD and OST best practices, reporting, implementation and evaluation processes. Grant accounting and excellent computer and statistical skills are essential, including MS Office, database management software and PC proficiency.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience in research, research program management and undergraduate/graduate education.
