This position also provides high level of expertise and technical consultation to ensure railroad tracks in Oregon are safe and in compliance with state and federal safety laws, rules, and regulations.

Four years of recent (within the last six years) experience in track construction or maintenance (e.g., Railroad Foreman, Track Inspector, Road Master, Railroad General Foreman, etc.);
A Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related technical specialization may be substituted for two of the four years of this experience requirement.
Successful completion of the Federal Railroad Administration apprentice training program may be substituted for this four year experience requirement. Proof of completion of the apprentice program must accompany the application.
Must possess and maintain a certification for Track Safety with the Federal Railroad Administration within one year of hire. You will receive a 5% salary adjustment upon successful completion of this certification.
Preferred Attributes Preference will be given to candidates whose application materials clearly demonstrate one or more of the following:
Proficient in using a computer, Microsoft Office programs and database program for recording data.
Knowledge and understanding of state and federal railroad safety laws, rules, and regulations.
Self-motivated person who can organize and handle all aspects of their work independently.
Ability to analyze various types of data to determine course of action.
Driving is an essential function of this position. A valid driver license and an acceptable driving record are required for this position. We will conduct pre-employment driving records checks on our final candidate(s).
