The California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, Construction Management Department invites nominations and applications for the full-time position of Department Head at the rank of associate or full professor.
THE POSITION: The department's new head will enhance the vision and spirit of the department while embracing its successful culture and leading continuous improvement efforts. Student success and championing the Learn by Doing tradition of the university are paramount. The head furthers partnerships with alumni, collaborates closely with industry and the Central Coast community, and serves on the leadership team of the College of Architecture and Environmental Design. The program's unique, integrated curricula require effective management of fiscal resources, human resources, and physical facilities, as well as fundraising for supplemental financial support. The head will be an active teacher-scholar who provides the leadership that will continue to distinguish the Construction Management Department as the premier program of its class.
QUALIFICATIONS: Credentials appropriate for a tenured position in the Construction Management Department, including a master's degree with extensive professional experience in Construction Management or closely related field or a doctorate in construction management or related field; relevant university teaching experience; and relevant professional experience in the U.S. construction industry.
