Any combination of education, experience and training equivalent to a bachelor's degree in real estate or a related field from an accredited four year college or university; plus three years of experience in real property negotiation, disposition and/or evaluation.
CERTIFICATES AND LICENSES REQUIRED:
Valid driver's license.
NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
The appointee to this position will be required to complete a criminal background check to the satisfaction of the employer.
Five years of progressively responsible professional experience as a right-of-way agent acquiring land rights and real property. Ability to understand road and other public improvement design plans, plats, proffers, subdivision and rezoning plans. Experience using computer applications and software such as CPMS, CPAN, GIS, LDS-Net. Excellent oral and written communication and analytical skills. Experience working with project managers on various road, pedestrian, bike, trail and other projects. Able to develop and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with property owners, county officials, staff and the public. Knowledge of county, state, federal rules and procedures governing right-of-way acquisitions. Ability to work independently and follow through on assignments.
Ability to travel to project locations throughout the county. Ability to visually inspect acquisition sites and project locations against scoping and engineering plans and perform right-of-way field investigations for road transportation, sidewalk, trail, bike, bus shelter and other community improvement type projects. Work is generally sedentary. However, employee may be required to do some walking, standing, bending, and carrying of items less than 25 pounds in weight.
