An outstanding opportunity exists for an enthusiastic and experienced professional to become part of our team based in Saskatoon, SK. Reporting to the Vice President Projects, this is an exciting opportunity to provide leadership to manage and lead the execution phase of a Major Capital Project to deliver the approved business objectives, within the constraints of scope, time, quality and budget, and to identify and manage project related Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) risk.
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Demonstrate an overriding commitment to health, safety and environmental responsibility.
Provide leadership and decision making to determine and optimise competing objectives and ensure successful execution of Jansen project.
Establish, maintain and govern project delivery strategy, standards, processes, systems and plans for a Jansen Project.
Manage key internal and external delivery stakeholders, including Business and Asset Leadership Teams, Project Steering Committees, governance groups, joint venture partners, and commercial partners as appropriate.
Drive performance of project delivery performed by 3rd parties within the program.
Maintain oversight to ensure that projects are executed in compliance with both internal and external governance processes and Group Level Document performance requirements.
Establish, maintain and govern standards for scope to be delivered.
Establish, maintain and govern risk and quality management plans to assure effective management of the delivery program’s scope of work.
Evaluate key learnings, industry leading practice and innovations in project delivery to identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
Establish, maintain and govern an effective and ODP compliant project delivery organisation.
Establish, maintain and govern capability development plans to ensure appropriately skilled project delivery resources matched to underlying program scope.
Interface with Business on 2YP and budgeting process for projects in execution.
A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with a major in Civil, Mining or Metallurgical Engineering
A minimum of 10 years of global project engineering experience and leadership with a track record of project delivery and demonstrated leadership
Superior knowledge and experience of global mine operations and minerals project developments
Superior interpersonal skills to interact and influence multidisciplinary engineering and industry consultants and stakeholders
A broad international professional and technical network
Track record and reputation in effective and innovative management of potash or other mining operations
