Responsible for the proper utilization, construction and maintenance of the DC Power Substations, associated motor generator locations and the Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition System (SCADA) of the Long Island Rail Road.
Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering/Computer Science or related field.
Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in an electrical operation’s environment.
High level understanding of electrical power transmission and distribution.
Strong hands-on experience in PLC/HMI programming.
In-depth and detailed understanding of control systems, relay logic, protection circuits, and frequency conversion.
Previous experience in design, implementation and troubleshooting of Industrial Communication Networks (Ethernet/ IP/ Profibus/ Profinet/ DNP3i).
Ability to work independently with limited instruction.
Strong knowledge in understanding and interpreting electrical schematics/prints.
Must possess strong hands-on experience utilizing computer assisted engineering and design software (Autocad, Dplot, Labview, etc…).
Design, program, implement, troubleshoot and repair complex electrical control systems in a 24/7 operating environment.
Responsible for the maintenance of the substation department’s infrastructure including the overseeing of field represented forces.
Oversee projects from initial scope to final construction completion.
