Mead & Hunt, a nationally recognized professional services consulting firm, is experiencing unprecedented growth. As a result, we have a full-time position available for an experienced utilities engineer. Responsibilities include conducting job-site surveys; calculating refrigeration requirements for process cooling and building loads; developing project documentation including drawings, piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&ID’s), equipment schedules, details, specifications, scope of work, etc.; selecting and applying system equipment to new and existing systems; and coordinating technical specifications, delivery requirements, and quotation parameters with outside equipment suppliers, subcontractors, and clients. Frequent (30-40%) travel will be required.
The successful candidate will have a bachelor’s degree or higher in mechanical engineering from a four-year college or university and at least eight years of relevant experience.
The ideal candidate will have any/all of the following: on-site experience integrating equipment into existing systems; experience with equipment selection; experience working directly with clients including marketing to obtain future work; experience developing piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs); proficiency in Microsoft Office software; familiarity with managing project invoices; a PE in any state with the ability to obtain in additional states; experience mentoring less experienced staff.
