Alta Planning + Design San Diego is seeking an entry to mid-level engineer to join its growing team of engineers. This person contributes to the production of high-quality reports and analyses, and produces high-quality, accurate and complete design drawings, cost estimates and other project deliverables. This position also assists Project Managers in the development of project deliverables and objectives such as aligning trails and roadways and other design elements to meet appropriate ADA requirements. The Engineer will play a key role in high-profile projects in Southern California and across the US.

The successful candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering and two-five (2-5) years of experience as a Civil or Transportation Engineer in a consulting environment or public entity as well as a background in traffic signal designs, civil roadway design, traffic analysis, active transportation design, and NACTO. This candidate will possess a working knowledge and interest in the field of active, non-motorized transportation, as well as working knowledge of engineering principles and techniques. A general understanding of MS Excel, Word, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Synchro/SimTraffic or similar programs is required although proficiency in these programs is preferred.
