Manages, leads and directs dam rehabilitation projects and project teams through direct involvement in the work and communication and coordination with team members in assuring project goals and objectives are met.
Provides monthly status reports and budget updates.
Prepares and updates project schedules, manages budgets and expenditures for the District's CIP, Dam Safety Program and other project as assigned.
Plans and prioritizes work to meet needs and schedules.
Prepares project descriptions, budgets and schedules for prioritization and inclusion of projects in the District's five and 10-year CIP budget projections.
Implements elements of the District's Dam Safety Program on assigned dams as applicable involving; recurrent dam safety activities, assessments and repairs and dam rehabilitation and modification.
Performs dam safety inspections and prepares dam safety inspection reports.
Monitors project coordination and communication with ADWR and NRCS and other agencies as appropriate in identifying and resolving dam safety issues.
Reviews development/upgrading of Individual Emergency Action Plans (EAP) for assigned District Dams.
Reviews right-of-way use permit requests, and technical submittals pertaining to District Dams and other District owned flood control structures and other assigned duties of the Structures Management Branch responsibilities.
Prepares and presents supporting information, projections, analyses, estimates, schedules, and recommendations to decision-makers, municipalities, and the community.
Coordinates with cities and public agencies; prepares and negotiates IGAs; makes project presentations, project authorization requests and status reports to staff, boards, and councils.
Prepares resolutions and agenda information for submittal to the Advisory Board and Board of Directors.
Makes oral and written presentations and responds to questions.
Performs other duties as assigned or required.
Minimum education and/or experience: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering and three (3) years' experience performing civil engineering related work at least two (2) years of which as professional civil engineering work. Specialized training, certifications, and/or other special requirements: Current registration as a Professional Civil Engineer or directly related PE registration by the Arizona State Board of Technical Registration; or PE registration by the technical board of another state with the ability to obtain Arizona Registration within six (6) months of hire. Must possess, or have the ability to obtain by the time of hire, a valid Arizona driver's license.
