This position requires the ability to create accurate, complete and code compliant CAD design drawings and project specifications for fire sprinkler, fire alarm, mass notification and special hazards systems, based on NFPA Codes and Standards, including review of Contractor Installation Shop Drawings Packages. Some travel to project sites in the built environment is required. This position will report to the Director of Fire Protection Engineering & Code Services and requires the understanding of working in a Team environment along side of Registered Fire Protection Engineers (FPE), Fire Protection Technologists, Certified Fire Protection Specialists (CFPS) and other NICET Designers.

The following are Candidate requirements:
Must be either NICET Level III or IV in Water-Based Layout, and/or Fire Alarm Systems. Having both would be a differentiator.
Must be able to obtain Governmental clearance, especially for military installations and facilities.
Must be proficient in AutoCAD. Having Revit proficiency is a differentiator.
Must be experienced with HASS Hydraulic Calculation software, etc.
Must have practical experience using Microsoft software, such as Excel, Word, etc.
Must be able to take direction from Fire Protection Engineers and Technologists, and CFPS.
Must have good writing and communication skills, a positive attitude, and the ability to collaborate with a Team.
Must have ability to manage design tasks, project schedules and deadlines.
Must have ability to self-start and work with minimal supervision.
Familiarity with the IBC, IFC, UFC, etc. is a differentiator.
Must meet Goals and Objectives regarding Training and Professional advancement.
All requirements are negotiable based on Candidate experience.
