The primary responsibilities of this position are to conduct quality and food safety related audits at manufacturing and distribution facilities and other related sites within the Morton Salt supply chain.This is accomplished through analytical and objective evaluation of facility policies, practices, and observations.
Conduct GMP, ISO, BRC and Supplier Quality Audits in a variety of product processing environments.
Prepare and submit audit reports to responsible parties in timely manner
Maintain confidentiality and impartiality in all aspects of work and adhere to all procedures established by Morton Salt.
Ensure timeliness, consistency, and accuracy in all audits and audit reports.
Follow and adhere to all required protocols and procedures of the certification bodies, scheme standards, and accreditation bodies.
Maintain applicable professional development and training required for audit proficiency.
Other program responsibilities as assigned.
Bachelor degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Chemistry, Engineering, or related field.
Minimum 5 years’ experience in a quality assurance role within a food manufacturing facility
Strong knowledge in GMP s, food safety practices and management systems, HAACP, GMP, FSMA, BRC, ISO and relevant government regulations is required.
Direct experience performing audits (GMP, HACCP, ISO, GFSI)
Passed a recognized Lead Auditor (Third Party) Training course.
Completed a recognized HACCP training course with exam.
Registered auditor in GFSI benchmarked schemes is preferred. BRC auditor registration is required within six months of hire date.
ASQ HACCP certification is preferred and must be attained within six months of hire date.
Excellent interpersonal and communication (written and verbal) skills and attention to detail.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Ability to adapt and be flexible within a changing work environment.
Strong proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint)
SAP Experience Preferred
Internal personnel at all levels.
External- contractors, vendors and regulators.
THIS ROLE IS FIELD-BASED, WORKING FROM A HOME OFFICE.
A MINIMUM OF 80% TRAVEL, INCLUDING OVERNIGHT STAYS IS REQUIRED.
