Whitman, Requardt & Associates, LLP (WRA) is currently seeking a Senior Traffic Engineer for our growing Philadelphia office to help us create safer, more efficient and livable communities. We are a rapidly growing company, ranked 118 by ENR, and have doubled both our offices and number of employees in the last ten years. Our clientele includes a wide range of state and local agencies. The work we do is challenging, interesting, and in many cases, on the leading edge of traffic engineering applications in the industry. Our traffic engineers conduct traffic safety/operations studies; design traffic signals, signing, markings, roadway/parking lot lighting, work zone traffic control, and ITS devices; and develop or apply Synchro, SimTraffic, VISSIM, and VISUM models.

Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering
At least eight years of traffic engineering experience working with PennDOT Engineering District 6-0 and/or the Philadelphia Streets Department, preferably in a project management or task management role
Excellent verbal and technical writing skills
Hands-on signal timing experience, as well as working with traffic operations models such as Synchro/SimTraffic, VISSIM and HCS
Traffic analysis for transportation planning studies and/or traffic impact studies
Experience in the design of traffic control devices including signals, signing, maintenance and protection of traffic, pavement markings, ITS devices, and lighting
Experience working with MicroStation and/or AutoCAD
Project assignments can range from small-scale intersection improvements to complex interchange and corridor projects, as well as innovative multi-modal transportation plans and parking studies. We have a wide range of project-specific and open-end agreements with PennDOT and local agencies, so you can expect diverse assignments with the opportunity to help grow our traffic engineering practice.
