This position supports Mercy's mission to provide patient centered care by leading and guiding continuous improvement initiatives. This position will participate in the Business Process Excellence Team, develop and mentor a process improvement mindset and system. This position will lead significant performance improvement projects in addition to mentoring continuous improvement project teams led by others, the organization's strategic and operational goal deployment process, and also provide appropriate educational opportunities and training for leaders regarding quality improvement tools and project management. The position will provide problem solving, process engineering, training and technical support to all departments and other support as needed.

Job Specific Duties/Essential Functions
Act as an internal consultant to lead, define, and develop continuous improvement activities designed to drive results in achieving organizational business plans.
Assist leadership with identification of quality improvement opportunities, assure integration into overall strategic plans, and assist with tracking/alignment of project resources.
Lead revenue enhancement and operating efficiency projects of a complex nature.
Guide, mentor and train organization in Voice of the Customer, Process Engineering, Project Management and People Change Management methodologies.
Mentor Lean/Six Sigma Green Belts on process improvement initiatives.
Assist organization in defining critical to quality metrics and developing process scorecards and control charts.
Integrate with HR and Organizational Development Resources for training needs and sharing of best practices.
Provide technical direction to staff as required.
Develop and provide high level continuous improvement awareness training for new hire orientation.
Promote and develop a continuous quality improvement culture for MercyCare.

Professional Experience- Required vs. Preferred
Healthcare experience preferred, experience as a trainer or adult education, along with the ability to develop and administer training curricula and materials preferred, in-depth knowledge and experience with application and training of Technical Lean, Six Sigma, and/or TPS concepts required.

Bachelor's Degree required
Licensure, Certification, Registration- Required vs. Preferred
ASQ Sigma Black Belt Certification required or must obtain within 1 year of employment.
