Hexcel is currently seeking a Vice President of Global Quality to be located in either the USA (Salt Lake City UT, Decatur AL, Casa Grande AZ), France or the UK.
The Vice President of Global Quality will translate customer quality requirements into internal strategies, policies, procedures and metrics and will drive the global corporation in achieving world class quality performance. The successful candidate will be both customer facing as well as a key strategic, senior leader in the company. This leader will develop strategies in collaboration with the business and operations teams and he/she will develop and drive policies, procedures and metrics to reach the desired goals. The VP is expected to provide influential direction and to advise the executive leadership team on industry best practices and trends.
The selected individual will be responsible for but not limited to the following obligations:
Accountable for developing Quality strategy, vision, goals, objectives and metrics in alignment with the company’s overall strategy, mission and culture.
Ensure that processes needed for the Quality management system (QMS) are established, implemented and maintained.
Ensure the promotion of awareness of customer requirements throughout the organization.
Liaise with appropriate external assessment bodies on all matters related to external accreditation processes.
Create overall direction for consistent quality methodologies, processes, and procedures across all operations of the company.
Act as the quality advocate both inside and outside of the organization.
Lead organizational development and support talent acquisition strategy.
Bachelor’s degree is a minimum requirement. A degree in Engineering, Chemistry or related sciences is preferred.
Substantial and proven experience of business strategy development within a large organization. Should have a good understanding of organizational dynamics, business processes and policies. Experience of advising senior leaders on strategic issues. Able to anticipate the challenges and opportunities which arise from technological or marketplace changes and translate these into a coherent strategy.
Must possess a minimum 15 years of progressive growth in quality leadership roles.
Manufacturing and Operations experience in the chemical, aerospace or automotive industry is preferred.
Certification in Lean Six Sigma at the Black Belt level or greater is highly desired.
Familiarity and experience with process capability, statistical process control, and strong project management skills.
Substantial experience of data analysis, having a good knowledge of relevant tools and methodologies.
Experience managing and influencing a team of quality managers and cross-functional leaders in a large, multinational matrixed organization. Strong collaborator and cultural sensitivity are key skills.
Must have a history of outstanding customer service focus, a sense of urgency for change and improvement, and have a balanced approach to risk taking and getting results.
Be able to champion change and be able to harness the necessary resources to bring about change.
Must possess strong written and oral communication skills. Another European language (German, French or Spanish) is desirable.
Ability to travel 50% of the time (domestic and international).
